High Touch Retail
Traditional cookie-cutter retail strategies are being abandoned in lieu of more personal, experiential and omnichannel shopping experiences.
A response to new technologies and trends that are permanently changing the landscape, High-Touch Retail speaks to an elevated or premium shopping experience that provides a tangible and immersive experience for consumers.
At TBWA, my aim was to locate and involve brands in modern culture. I’d identified four key areas in which the High Touch trend is changing the status quo of Retail.
Actionable Example: In Situ Selling
In Thailand, Siam Discovery was built to be a “lifestyle laboratory” that encourages shoppers to test, create and cultivate things for themselves.
Actionable AR Example: Try Before you Buy
YouCam Makeup is an app with 200+ million downloads that allows consumers to try on lipstick, blush, eye makeup, lashes, contacts, etc.
Actionable Example: Live The Brand
Stone has developed an immersive experience that goes beyond RTB’s and fosters brand love by creating the ideal conditions to experience the brand and its products.
Actionable Example: Radical Honesty
Companies like Reformation that vow to only use sustainable methods and materials, online retailers are giving a whole new meaning to transparency in branding.
